My Writing Journey

When I think back about my writing journey, I was 10 maybe living in Germany. I wrote a short story called The Adventures of the Boston Blue Jays. It’s about a football team. I have no idea where the story idea came from. I still have that story by the way. Printed on a good old dot matrix printer.

This leads me to Deception. How did I come up with this story idea. Since it’s October and Halloween is right around the corner AND this is my favorite month, I’ll share with you the beginnings of Deception.

It started with Steven King’s IT. Horror, romantic suspense. How are the two related? Well, they’re not really. The suspense part maybe. In my 16-year-old mind I was thinking wouldn’t it be cool to go visit a cousin and have a run in with bad boys and one of them liked you. Then somewhere along the line you uncover a crime ring of sorts that they are running. The bad/good guy will eventually help you collect the evidence to stop them. End of story. No evil clown. There is romance, an intriguing bad guy and another man loved by a woman who would stop at nothing to bring down the bad guy.
